50 years Élysée Treaty – 2 Euro commemorative, 2013

As part of the festivities carried out within the framework of the Franco-German Year (Sep 2012 – Jul 2013), Germany and France jointly agreed to issue a new 2 Euro coin to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Élysée Treaty.

The national side of the new coin depicts the signatories of the Élysée Treaty, Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and French President Charles de Gaulle, together with their signatures and bilingual text denoting the occasion for the joint-issue coin. This side of the coin will be identical in both countries, except for the country designation and the national engraving mark.
