The Hellenic Numismatic Program of 2013

The Ministry of Finance has recently announced the Hellenic Numismatic Program of 2013, which will include the following products:

Commemorative coins

  • Commemorative 2 Euro Coin UNC issued to celebrate the “2400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF PLATO’S ACADEMY”
  • Commemorative 2 Euro Coin UNC issued to celebrate the “100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNION OF CRETE WITH GREECE”
  • Collectors’ blister skin pack with the 2 Euro Commemorative Coin issued to celebrate the “2400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF PLATO’S ACADEMY”  (maximum mintage of 7,500 pieces)
  • Collectors’ blister skin pack with the 2 Euro Commemorative Coin issued to celebrate the “100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNION OF CRETE WITH GREECE” (maximum mintage of 7,500 pieces) Continue reading

Germany – 10 Euro UNC, Snow White, 2013

This is the second edition in a series of commemorative coins launched in 2012, in which a coin themed around Grimm’s fairytales will be issued each year for six years. The series began with the 10 Euro coin commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, which appeared in June 2012 and featured a double portrait of the Brothers Grimm.
